When Jonathon received news that would change their lives forever, he ate dinner with his wife and children.
People in La Farge, Wisconsin, know each other because the town has only 730 people. This strengthens the community’s bonds and makes it simple to stand out if you have some authority.
Like Jonathon, the town’s lone ranger, an Army veteran. He’s frequently spotted on patrol around town, and people frequently call him to report an emergency. He is, after all, their go-to guy.
“You stick out as the town cop.” On occasion, they’ll even come up to your door with a complaint,” Jonathon explains.
Jonathon and his family relocated to Wisconsin four years ago, which strongly affected their extended family.
Jonathon’s wife had a son from a previous marriage, and he had four children of his own. He and his current partner have two more children together.
When they first arrived in town, the locals appreciated that they brought numbers with them. Since then, everyone has met the cop, and they all feel safe having him nearby, ready to assist if an emergency arises.
“Being a member of something bigger than yourself gives you a sense of community.” “That’s where my family is, our lives, and where you want to go,” the veteran explains.
The man argues that being a community member motivates him to continue. When he assists his fellow residents, he feels fulfilled, and he never tires of receiving calls requesting him to act in an emergency.
The community has opened its arms to Jonathon’s family, who now consider their own. And over time, the family has grown to adore the town and its inhabitants, and they wouldn’t trade their lives there for anything.
Since he and his family came to La Farge, the Army veteran has been living in a temporary home, hoping to purchase a larger home that can accommodate their growing family.
However, as we all know, he had to consider a mortgage before purchasing the home, so this has already taken a long time.
Until Veterans United Home Loans stunned the family one day by telling them something they never expected to hear.
“It’s been so nice getting to know you, Jonathon,” a lady tells the man and his family, “so we’re pleased to let you know that your new home is all paid for.”
Jonathon and his wife can’t hold back their tears when they hear the good news. Their wish will become a reality, and they won’t have to pay for it.
The entire family is thrilled. They appreciate Veterans United for their incredible gift, just as the country is grateful to people like Jonathon, who selflessly serve it.
