Mom makes worldwide headlines after giving birth to seven babies – Take a look at them 23 years later

The McCaugheys’ one want was for another child. Nothing, however, could have prepared them for what was ahead after they sought medical help and underwent ovulation-stimulating medication for infertility.

Kenny and Bobby from Iowa were soon the proud parents of the world’s first septuplets. Kenny Jr., Alexis, Natalie, Kelsey, Nathan, Brandon, and Joel were born on November 19, 1997, and they rapidly made international headlines.

The parents were taken aback when they learned of the number of babies growing within Bobbi’s belly. They prayed to God for all of their bundles of joy to arrive in the world healthy, happy and joyful, but they were also scared for the baby’s fate.

Doctors warned them about the dangers of the pregnancy and even suggested terminating the lives of some of the babies, but these courageous parents never considered that choice. They proceeded with the pregnancy because they intuitively believed everything would work out. Fortunately, that was the best choice.

Raising eight children was challenging, but the adage “it takes a village to raise a kid” proved true for the McCaughey’s, who received assistance from the entire town. Many companies and donors jumped in to help them when their story was shared, making things easier for them.

“The siblings will follow their different routes, including military, workforce, and college,” KCCI-TV reported.

The septuplets are now 23 years old and on their separate paths, yet they are still as close as they have always been.
