Only five days after her 5-year-old son’s funeral, mom was shot and died.

Five days after attending her 5-year-old son’s funeral, an Indiana mother was shot and died.

According to heartbreaking accounts, the Davidson family of South Bend, Indiana, is again grieving after Kaylynn Davidson was shot outside of a restaurant on Tuesday night.

The 32-year-old was taken to the hospital and eventually died from her injuries, according to police.

Kaylynn was just five days ago at the funeral for her son, Kyler Jackson, who died on May 1 following an unintentional gunshot involving a 9-year-old relative. Three days after the incident, the small kid died.

Preacher Canneth Lee, the lead pastor during Kyler’s funeral, is now attempting to help the Davidson family cope with their unimaginable pain.

“It’s a lot of emotion when you receive that call that a loved one is dead, or that a loved one is in the hospital, or that a catastrophe has happened,” he told WNDU.

“They’ve had three tragedies: Kyler, his nephew (who inadvertently shot him), and now Kyler’s mother,” he continued.

Lee also challenged the South Bend community to band together to prevent such incidents from occurring.

“What else do we have if we can’t live for our children and raise our children?” he said.

According to ABC, in the aftermath of Kaylynn Davidson’s death, a woman named Kimarie Wright has been charged with murder and voluntary manslaughter.

On Tuesday, May 17, a surveillance film allegedly showed Davidson entering a restaurant in South Bend and punching Wright. The two women then battled until others intervened and separated them.

After fleeing the building, Wright pulled out a revolver and fired at Davidson and other restaurant patrons.

She is being held without bond at the moment.

Such indiscriminate brutality is enough to make anyone doubt their confidence in modern society. I agree with Pastor Lee that we should all be seeking more peaceful ways to cohabit.

Kaylynn and her kid, may you rest in peace.
