The 16-year-old girl was eager to go to the prom but felt compelled to stay at home because her classmates teased her.

For high school students, prom is one of the most important occasions since it marks the end of their time in school and their entry into maturity and a new stage of life. Although it is a joyful moment, much preparation is needed.

Shannon Purcifer, a 16-year-old British girl, had been looking forward to going to the prom, but she was forced to remain home after being teased by her peers.

Shannon struggled with many diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis and ulcers, throughout her life. Despite this, she had dressed beautifully for the event but finally decided to stay in.

The girl felt that she shouldn’t even go to the prom since her coworkers had made such a big deal of her illnesses.

Her mother, Claire, wrote on Facebook about the whole thing:

She would have looked stunning if Shannon had gone to the prom tonight. However, she didn’t want to mix with the chaos causing her such misery “due” to her terrible coworkers. For a small child who had to endure so much hardship…

She is among the smartest and toughest young women I have ever met. You have my undying love.

After her mother’s post went viral, strangers and friends began making contributions so she could give Shannon the great prom she deserved.

Thanks to the 120 motorcycle riders who came out to support Shannon and ride with her to the event, her private prom was a success. When her mother saw this, she sobbed and fell to her knees.
